Real Betis have completed the signing of Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin on a season-long loan. The news comes as little surprise considering the Spaniard’s clear desire to leave the north London club, with a return to his homeland the best possible destination.

A Poor Season Ahead?
If Arsenal head into the rest of the Premier League campaign with their current squad, then it’s going to be filled with an increasing amount of misery. It’s simply not good enough to earn a European place, as proven so far this season. Arteta will be well aware, however, that if the Gunners do not sell, they will not buy.
Given the fact that they’ve already spent the most money in the Premier League, too, perhaps throwing even more money at the situation isn’t the best idea, especially if it’s panic buying on deadline day.
The focus should have been on replicating deals like the one that has taken Hector Bellerin to Real Betis. The full-back will return to Spain, joining the likes of Nabil Fekir, where he’ll hope to mount an unexpected European push. The competition for those European places is certainly filled to the brim, but with the growing ability within the Betis squad, they are more than capable of pulling off the greatest of shocks.
Bellerin’s experience should come in handy, too, having spent so much time in the Premier League.
