Marcos Andre Returns to La Liga
Marcos Andre is on his way back to La Liga. Valencia will reportedly pay €8.5 million to Real Valladolid to complete the signing of the 25-year-old Brazilian-born forward. The agreement will also see Valladolid secure 10% of any future sales involving the forward. The forward will sign a five-year contract with Los Che that will see him at Mestalla until June 2026. He has also agreed personal terms with the La Liga side that will see him earn €2 million per season.
Marcos Andre moved to Spain in 2015 after coming through the youth system of several Brazilian clubs. The forward joined the Celta Vigo reserve side on his arrival but rarely made an appearance for the Spanish side. He spent most of his time away on loan before permanently securing a transfer to Real Valladolid last year.
He was one of the better players for Real Valladolid in what was a disappointing season for Albivioletas. Andre made 24 appearances for Valladolid, scoring four goals and making two assists. Despite his performances, Valladolid fell short by five points as they finished 19th in the La Liga last season.
A Quiet Summer So Far for Valencia
Valencia have been one of the quietest teams in La Liga this summer. Financial troubles inside the club and the effect of the pandemic has left Valencia in a poor financial situation. Los Che have signed just three players, Omar Alderete, Jonas Goncalves, and Giorgi Mamardashvili, apart from Marcos Andre. They have also seen the departure of several of first-team players, including Eliaquim Mangala and Kevin Gameiro.
