Pereira to Leave West Brom After Two Years

The Brazilian will be leaving the Baggies after two seasons with the club. Pereira initially joined the club in 2019 on loan from Sporting Lisbon. The attacking midfielder quickly established himself at the Hawthorns as West Brom emerged as one of the clear favourites for promotion. His impressive performances resulted West Brom triggering his buyout clause just five months into his loan spell.

Pereira’s overall impressive attacking display helped secure promotion from the Championship for the Baggies in his debut season. The Brazilian also won the clubs Supporter’s Player of the Season award after finishing the season with eight goals and 17 assists.

The Baggies struggled to adjust following the jump to the Premeir League last season, however and were comprehensively outclassed as they suffered another relegation from the Premier League. But, Pereira remained a shining spark in the dreadful season. The Brazilian scored 11 goals and made three assists but failed to secure Premier League status for the Baggies. In two seasons at the Hawthorns, he made 77 appearances, scoring 20 goals and making a further 23 assists in the process.
