Alex Telles is happy to stay on at Manchester United and fight for a spot in the upcoming season. The Brazilian has made it clear he isn’t going anywhere this summer amid rumours of a loan move to Roma.
Alex Telles Happy to Stay at Manchester United
Manchester United not looking to sell Telles
Despite interest from Jose Mourinho, the new head coach of Italian giants Roma, a deal for Alex Telles looks unlikely to happen this summer. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Red Devils are not looking to let the left-back go. As first-choice left-back Leonardo Spinazzola ruptured his Achilles at Euro 2020, the ex-Manchester United manager is in need of a replacement. Bringing the Brazilian to the eternal city would have solved the problem for the Portuguese. However, the deal may not happen. Telles told United Daily: “It’s a pleasure to be at Manchester United coming into my second season.”
Alex Telles Looking to Prove Himself
Luke Shaw had a brilliant season last time out and things were tough for Alex Telles on his debut season. However, the Brazilian wants to stay on and prove himself to the Man United fans.
He said the following to the club’s official website: “It’s going to be a tough test but we’re really well prepared for it.
“We’ve been working really hard in training today, and this last week, and I believe it’s an opportunity to show my value my quality and my potential here at Manchester United.
“I know Manchester United and the fans really believe in me.”
So, everything points to Telles staying at Red Devils this season. In fact, Manchester United might need Telles to start the first couple of games of the season as Luke Shaw will join the squad a bit late, so it makes no sense to let the Brazilian leave on loan.
