Chelsea transfer news is once again picking up as the Blues look to splash the cash this summer. Fresh off the back of a Euro 2020 win, Federico Chiesa is the name entering several shortlists, including Chelsea’s. According to Christian Falk of BILD, the Blues have approached Juventus for the winger, offering a starting price of €100 million which the Italians reportedly declined.
The offer comes as little surprise when considering Chiesa’s ability and age. At just 23, the winger is arguably Juventus’ main man, behind Cristiano Ronaldo of course. Prior to the Euros, if you asked anyone in Italy, they would be signing his praises. Ask the same question in England and you’ll likely only get a limited amount of answers, however. And that’s what made the competition so important for Chiesa. His performances rightfully put him on the map.

Chelsea Mean Business
Most teams happily sit back with the team they’ve got after winning a Champions League, but not Chelsea. Instead, they’re using the win to flex their newly gained silverware-tinted muscles in the transfer market. Roman Abramovich’s money seems to be everywhere this summer as Chelsea target various talents. So far, they are yet to land a single player. Given more time, however, and we could see the Blues form the best side in the Premier League.
Should they welcome new players this summer, it will be interesting to see who they let go, especially is one of those new players is Chiesa. The winger scored 15 goals and assisted a further 11 last season. The fact is, the Italian is a cut above the current options at Stamford Bridge.
In comparison to Chiesa, Hakim Ziyech scored as little as six goals whilst assisting just a further four. Christian Pulisic also recorded the same tally in each department. If Chelsea are serious about winning the Premier League, signing Chiesa would be the perfect step and the perfect piece of transfer news to give the fans.
