Aston Villa have already been quick in the summer transfer window, bringing in Emilano Buendia from Norwich City in a club a record deal and they want to continue adding to their numbers. Aston Villa Smith Rowe Bid Rejected

Aston Villa Bid £25 Million for U21 Star

Dean Smith wants to add Arsenal player Emile Smith Rowe to his ranks, but a bid said to be in the region of £25 million has been rejected with the North London club having no intention of selling the player.

Emile Smith Rowe: A Homegrown Player

Smith Rowe impressed in 33 appearances for Arsenal in the 2020/21 Premier League season and his status as a homegrown player is also important and another reason why Mikel Arteta is keen to keep onto a player who he sees having a long term future at the club.

Villa finished the season just three points behind Arsenal and well clear of the relegation zone. With that said, Dean Smith now wants to strengthen his squad and, as a result, oversee further improvement.

The signing of Buendia for £38 million meant that Arsenal missed out on the player as they were unwilling to match that offer. The fact that Villa managed to beat the Gunners to the signing shows that they mean business ahead of the new campaign. Villa will play Watford at Vicarage Road whilst Arsenal make the short trip to newly promoted Brentford, on the opening day of the season

Jack Grealish Receiving Plenty of Interest

Grealish is the subject of transfer talk with Manchester City said to be considering a bid for the talented Villa midfielder, according to Manchester Evening News, who is currently on International duty with England at the Euro’s and this bid for Smith Rowe might be seen as an attempt to replace him before they sell or it could simply be a case of Villa wanting to challenge the top six.
