Following on from the news that manager David Moyes has committed his future to the club, there is also a new contract for West Ham United’s David Martin, who has signed for an extra year until June 2022.

One year Extension for Goalkeeper
Thirty-five-year-old keeper Martin has extended his stay at the London Stadium until the end of June 2022.
Martin began his career with Wimbledon and stayed at the club when it went through its transformation into Milton Keynes Dons, where he made a total of 339 appearances across two spells.
Martin has been a backup keeper to number one Lukasz Fabianski and Darren Randolph but his experience around the players is highly valued by Moyes and his backroom staff. A lifelong Hammers fan, Martin told the club website that he is delighted to be extending his stay for another year: “To be at a club I’ve supported all my life, and to have the opportunity to stay for another year, it means everything.
“Being a positive vibe around the place is very important to me – to try and help the lads in whatever way I can. I give it everything in training and try to compete with Łukasz, Darren and Nathan Trott, and just try to enjoy it and always make sure I am ready to play if ever called upon. I try to make sure everyone is working hard and have that positive vibe.
Debut Martin Will Never Forget
Martin played his debut against Chelsea in 2019 and kept a clean sheet in a 1-0 win over their London rivals.
Martin’s connection with the club goes back further with his father, Alvin, being a Hammers legend who made just shy of 600 appearances for West Ham.
