Sergio Aguero has officially completed his move to Barcelona as a free agent after such a successful spell at Manchester City. The forward won all but the Champions League in Manchester and will now be looking to replicate that success at Barcelona.
The deal suits both parties to perfection. Sergio Aguero is far from ready to bid farewell to Europe’s elite. Meanwhile, Barcelona are in desperate need of a clinical forward. And they will struggle to find many better at finishing than Sergio Aguero,
From the Argentine’s perspective, he’ll be hoping to persuade fellow countryman Lionel Messi to sign a new contract and build a lethal partnership. Perhaps that is the idea behind the signing, to tempt Messi to stay by unveiling a deal for a close friend. If it works, the Spanish side will have themselves a brilliant forward alongside one of the best to ever grace the game.
Sergio Aguero Completes Barcelona Transfer
The First of Many Free Agents to Arrive?
It is not exactly an unknown piece of information that Barcelona are struggling when it comes to money, meaning that free agents is the new pathway to a successful transfer window for them. Already, they’ve signed Sergio Aguero. Now, the focus will likely turn to securing Georginio Wijnaldum who leaves Liverpool an icon.
Ironically, should Barcelona sign the free agent, they’ll be securing the man who scored a brace to knock Barcelona out of the Champions League in 2019, overturning a three goal deficit. Wijnaldum would be an ideal signing to add to what could be a busy summer which has started with the arrival of none other than Sergio Aguero.
They are clearly desperate to both rebuild and save money whilst trying. And so far, they have done that. Only time will tell whether the summer will prove successful or not, however.
