Chelsea trio Antonio Rudiger, Timo Werner and Kai Havertz are also included as is Leeds United defender Robin Koch. Borussia Monchengladbach duo Jonas Hofmann and Florian Neuhaus are also named after impressive seasons.

However, Borussia Dortmund duo Julian Brandt and Mahoud Dahoud as well as Jerome Boateng miss out.

It’s been some year for teenager Jamal Musiala. He has sparkled in the Bundesliga this season, helping Bayern Munich to a ninth consecutive league title. Musiala became Bayern Munich’s youngest ever Bundesliga debutant and youngest ever goal scorer.

His tremendous performances also earned him Bundesliga rookie of the year. Musiala pledged his international allegiance to Germany in February, preferring to choose Germany over England. He has been rewarded for an outstanding season and could be a key man this summer.

Musiala will be joined by teammate Thomas Muller who earns a recall to the national squad. The experienced midfielder has enjoyed a terrific season, scoring 11 times and setting up 18 goals.

As well as Muller’s recall, Borussia Dortmund’s Mats Hummels is also recalled after an excellent season. Hummels has played an influential role in Dortmund’s rapid improvement in 2021. He’s helped Dortmund secure Champions League football and win the DFB Pokal.

Joachim Löw is gearing up for his final tournament before stepping down after Euro 2020. His team face a challenging group which includes clashes with France and Portugal. Experienced heads could be key to their chances of getting out of a very difficult group.
