Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 25 Picks

Teams that Play Twice

Leeds United and Southampton have two matches in gameweek 25.

Goalkeepers

Emiliano Martínez was sensational last week as he earned his team a precious away point with nine saves. The Argentine has been quite amazing this season and remains the best long-term keeper option for FPL.

Nick Pope could not outscore him despite having two matches last week. However, Pope has a great home fixture this week against West Brom whereas Martinez takes on high-flying Leicester City. So, Pope could do better this week in the fight between the two best keepers.

The keepers with two matches do not seem worthwhile options this week.

Defenders

The best defender with two games seems to be Stuart Dallas. He plays in midfield and his involvement in the attacking play is really attractive. Dallas should reach triple figures in terms of FPL points this gameweek.

Southampton are in terrible form. The Saints have lost six matches on the trot. Injuries have really hit Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side hard. Kyle Walker-Peters might miss out this week. Will they get back to form this week? Their matches are pretty tough as well. Both Chelsea and Leeds United will provide the saints with a lot of problems. However, if one wants to gamble, Jannik Vestergaard could be a worthy punt.

Luke Shaw has been quite impressive this season. He got another assist last week. With a comfortable home game this week against Newcastle United, one should not ignore Shaw. The Magpies will be without Callum Wilson as well so a clean sheet is likely.

Pep Guardiola has started to rotate his centre-backs as well. So,  John Stones and Rúben Dias are not certain starters like before. However, one should not sell them as their form is still tremendous. Having a playing option on the bench is needed though if one of them goes missing.

Matthew Lowton scored a rare goal last week and what a goal it was as well. It is probably too much to expect more goals from him this week but a clean sheet is definitely possible. Ben Mee might return which will improve Burnley‘s chances.

Midfielders

Bruno Fernandes is once again the standout pick from the single gamers. A big score is definitely possible. Despite having one game, he could outscore everyone else.

From the double gamers, Raphinha seems to be the best bet. He has produced attacking returns in each of his last five fixtures. In fact, he could be a candidate for the armband as well. Jack Harrison is also a decent shout although his random substitution last week was worrying for the FPL managers.

James Ward-Prowse is an attractive pick on any given week for his set-piece ability. The Leeds game could be a good opportunity for him although the Chelsea game looks really tough. Nathan Redmond played as a forward in the last match whereas Takumi Minamino is a very forward-thinking player. However, none of them look to be solid options at this stage.

Ilkay Gündogan had a monster game against Tottenham scoring 19 points. He should return to the side despite missing the Everton game. On current form, one should start him for sure. Kevin De Bruyne returned to action recently but he might be eased back into it. Phil Foden looks in great form but will he start at the Emirates?

Strikers

Every FPL manager should get Patrick Bamford for this gameweek. The two games both should provide him with plenty of opportunities to score. Bamford is probably the best captaincy option this week as well. He misses a lot of chances but there should be enough for him to get a couple of goals this week.

From Southampton, Danny Ings is definitely a good option. He is the man that can drag the Saints away from their current terrible form. He is a must-have as well this week.

Che Adams may not start so one should probably stay away.

The fitness of two popular strikers Michail Antonio and Dominic Calvert-Lewin remains unclear. It is probably better to sell one of them at least to bring Bamford or Ings in. The London derby between West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur should be a great game. The Hammers made a sensational comeback to force a 3-3 draw at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier in the season. Harry Kane has a brilliant record against the hammers with 11 goals in 16 matches. Kane has scored four goals in the last three matches against them. However, the recent forms of both teams suggest a tough game for Spurs.
