According to reports, Tottenham Hotspur have turned down a third loan bid from Paris Saint-Germain for Dele Alli.
Tottenham Reject Paris Saint-Germain Loan Bid for Dele Alli
Mauricio Pochettino Keen to Reunite With the Out of Favour Midfielder
Dele Alli is clearly out of favour at Spurs and not in Mourinho’s immediate plans. He has only made four league appearances for the North London club this season and has been limited to Europa League and League Cup minutes. Alli has not played for Spurs in the league since December 16. His only league start came on the very first game of the season.
Mauricio Pochettino, someone who got so much out of him during his time as Spurs boss, is eager to bring Alli to PSG. However, despite such keen interest and the move being one that appears to suit both clubs, Spurs Chairman Daniel Levy is standing in the way, reportedly rejecting three loan bids. The deal appears to be dead as we head into the final hours of the window. It appears Levy will not sanction the move without an adequate replacement coming into the club.
Reports suggest Mourinho is happy to let Alli go, and Alli is keen to leave Spurs, where he has struggled for game time. Yet, it seems Daniel Levy is unwilling to sanction the deal.
Alli Wants Regular Football
Dele Alli is eager to leave and play regularly in order to boost his chances of regaining a place in the England squad ahead of Euro 2020. He was a key feature in Pochettino’s Spurs side and was instrumental in their Champions League campaign which saw them reach the final in 2019.
Unfortunately for Alli, time is running out and a move appears less likely as the hour’s tick on. He has three years left on his current Spurs deal yet it looks as if he will soon be on the way out, especially with a deteriorating relationship with current boss Jose Mourinho.
