Following an FA Cup exit at the hands of Manchester United– in which Liverpool were without the duo of Joel Matip and Jordan Henderson– Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that the two players should be back in contention for the trip to Tottenham Hotspur.
The news will be music to every Liverpool fans’ ears with the Reds winless in their last four Premier League games. Against Manchester United in the FA Cup, the absence of Joel Matip proved a deciding factor as young Rhys Williams was left exposed several times.
The return of Jordan Henderson will give the team a much-needed boost, as well, as they approach the Spurs game in need of a win.

Speaking in his press conference before the Spurs game, Klopp was keen to remind everyone of the fight within his Liverpool side, saying: “There was a lot of good stuff (v United) but we conceded three goals. The general situation is a challenge but a challenge is good and I’m fine with it. I don’t sit here thinking my life should be perfect and my team should win every game. We will fight hard.”
The Liverpool boss was also keen to remind everyone that he is not just a manager for the good times, saying: “I know it’s easier to believe in what you’re doing in the good times, but I’m not only a good-weather coach. I never was.”
He then added: “In this world, we lose trust and faith much too quickly. Everything is great, or everything is the opposite. There are so many stages in between.”
To finish, he provided positive news regarding Liverpool duo Jordan Henderson and Joel Matip, stating: “Hendo and Joel trained yesterday with the team, fully.”
The game against Tottenham Hotspur feels a season-defining one and one of the biggest games of the season. As proven before, though, on a big occasion, this Liverpool side rarely shy away from the limelight.
