Wolverhampton Wanderers Linked With Move for Juventus Winger Douglas Costa

Douglas Costa Wolverhampton

Juventus winger Douglas Costa has been offered to Wolverhampton Wanderers ahead of the January transfer window closing in less than two weeks, according to Mike McGrath of The Daily Telegraph.

The Brazilian – who is currently on loan at Bayern Munich – could see his deal cut short, after just one start in the last two months for the German giants.

Juventus Offer Wolverhampton Wanderers Chance to Sign Douglas Costa

Is Douglas Costa What Wolves Need Right Now?

With Adama Traore failing to have the same impact as he did last season, a move for such a talented individual would be justified. The Spanish winger is yet to score and only has a single assist to his name in his 18 starts this season, and is part of the reason why Wolves have struggled to maintain their high standards this season.

The creative spark that is usually provided by the Spaniard has been missing this season, with Daniel Podence and Pedro Neto trying to step up to the mark, but the pair are also having difficulties in terms of goal contributions.

A Striker Remains a Priority at Molineux

However, it has been the loss of Raul Jimenez that has hurt Wolves the most. The Mexican forward has been out of action since fracturing his skull in early December. Since then, 18-year-old Fabio Silva has been Nuno Espírito Santo’s first and only real choice.

Subsequently, it seems that a centre-forward is higher up on their priority list in this moment of time. The West Midlands club are closing in on the signing of Real Sociedad’s Willian Jose on loan with a view to buy. The Brazilian has scored 60 goals in five seasons with the Spanish side.

It seems that if Wolves manage to secure the signing of Willian Jose in the coming days, they will explore the option to sign the Juventus winger too.
