Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard continues to look for a move away from the club after Nice cooled their interest in a loan deal.
After reports claimed the England international’s representatives had held discussions with the French side, an official approach never materialised.

Now, according to reports in France with Nice-Matin, Nice club president Jean-Pierre Rivere was quoted as saying: “We have seen a lot of names appear in the press without any merit. Our goal is to get our entire squad back together and we all aim to have a good second part of the season.
“No, that won’t be the case, expecting a big transfer in the winter market. The context is totally inappropriate.”
“We know that the winter transfer window is very special and difficult.”
Lingard Out in the Cold
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is yet to name the 28-year-old in a Premier League squad this season, with all his appearances coming in cup competitions. The club is also yet to decide if he is to be allowed to leave this month.
The England international last made a Premier League appearance in the last game of last season where his goal helped seal Champions League qualification in a crucial 2-0 win over Leicester City. That goal was his first goal since December 2018.
Lingard’s contract now expires in 2022 after United triggered a one-year extension but with the midfielder fallen down the pecking order; a move away could be ideal as the 28-year-old looks for first-team football ahead of the European Championships this summer.
With Nice now turning down the option to sign the midfielder on loan; a host of clubs are still chasing the midfielder on loan. Inter Milan, West Ham United Tottenham Hotspur, Sheffield United, Marseille and Porto are all still said to be interested in the 28-year-old midfielder.
