The former Chelsea right-back has impressed at the Amex Stadium since leaving west London last January. Impressive Spell at Brighton for Tariq Lamptey
Despite his young age, Lamptey has quickly established himself as one of the best players at the Amex stadium, although injury problems have hampered the youngster’s progress so far. However, if available, Lamptey is a definite starter in Graham Potter’s lineup. Playing as a wing-back, the youngster has the freedom to make forward runs.
He has had a massive impact at Brighton. The seagulls have struggled in his absence. Brighton have not been able to win in the Premier League without Lamptey starting. For a 20-year-old inside his first year at a new club to have that sort of impact is unprecedented. Lamptey’s qualities are there for all to see. With time, he should improve even further. So, understandably, Brighton are looking to try and convince Lamptey to sign a new deal.
Big Clubs Interested
With his stellar performances, Lamptey has attracted interest from a lot of elite clubs around Europe. FC Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in the England U21 international. When Arsenal were contemplating an offer from Paris Saint-Germain for their right-back Héctor Bellerín earlier in the season, Tariq Lamptey was someone they considered as a replacement.
Many big clubs around Europe would be interested in signing Lamptey next summer. He certainly won’t look out of place in an elite club. In fact, if he could improve his end-product, he has the potential to be one of the best right-backs in the world.
