Brighton & Hove Albion Midfielder Yves Bissouma in Talks With Arsenal
Impressive Spell at Brighton for Yves Bissouma
Yves Bissouma has been quite impressive for the Seagulls since signing for them in 2018. Due to those impressive performances, the 24-year-old has been linked with several top clubs across Europe in recent months. Previously, there were rumours of Manchester United and Liverpool being interested in him as well.
Bissouma is one of the first names on the teamsheet for Graham Potter. The most impressive aspect about him is his ability to win the ball and his physicality. He also has great technical ability as well. It seems quite certain that Bissouma will move to a bigger club soon. Potter hopes to keep hold of his star man though.
Speaking about the rumours, Potter said: “There have been no approaches. As I’ve said before, just because it’s in the newspaper, doesn’t necessarily mean it’s true.*
Arsenal Will Need Reinforcements in the Summer
There are quite a few issues in the midfield at Arsenal. Dani Ceballos is likely to move back to Real Madrid after the end of his loan spell. Arsenal fans would like an upgrade on Granit Xhaka and Mohamed Elneny, while Matteo Guendouzi’s status at the club is unknown. Joe Willock also remains a question mark.
So, Thomas Partey aside, there is a scope for improving the midfield. Adding Bissouma should help in that regard for sure. Although, the Malian’s disciplinary record needs to improve. Bissouma has already received five yellow cards and a red card this season. He will miss the crucial trip to Manchester City because of racking up five yellow cards this season.
