Manchester City have a plethora of talents ready to step up in any given moment, but, Kevin De Bruyne is undoubtedly the star of the show- making a new contract for the midfielder a priority.
According to The Times, however, the Belgian is set to reject Manchester City’s first contract offer. The former Wolfsburg man is reportedly concerned with the pace of negotiations over a new, and improved five-year deal.
De Bruyne to Reject Manchester City Contract Offer
The Central Fgure to Manchester City Success
With his current deal set to expire in 2023, Manchester City have plenty of time to get negotiations over the line, despite De Bruyne’s reported concern of the pace of talks.
Either way, whether it be sooner or later, the Manchester club must ensure that De Bruyne puts pen to paper on a new contract. He is the central figure to the success under Guardiola; the conductor of the Manchester City symphony.
Lose him, and Manchester City lose the man that runs the show. The hope from City’s point of view will be that the Belgian puts an end to any speculation by signing a new deal as soon as possible.
De Bruyne Could End Career at Manchester City
Approaching 30 this year with a reported five-year deal on the table at the Etihad, there is a growing possibility that De Bruyne will end his career at Manchester City.
If that is the case, it has to be said that De Bruyne will go down a City legend alongside the likes of David Silva and Yaya Toure.
As he approaches 30, however, he may consider other options; a different destination to rise to stardom, and, ultimately, swap Manchester for another top club. As each month passes with a deal yet to be signed, this will be the growing concern at Manchester City.
