Despite wanting to sell him in this month’s transfer window, Inter Milan are yet to receive an official transfer bid for Christian Eriksen, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The news comes with Inter reportedly desperate to move the midfielder on, who only joined last January from Tottenham Hotspur. Since making the move, Eriksen has failed to impress under Antonio Conte, however, and it looks as though his time in Milan is nearing its end with a transfer imminent.
Inter Milan Yet to Recieve Bid for Eriksen
Inter Hoping to Recieve Eriksen Transfer Proposals in Coming Days
Sitting just one point behind rivals AC Milan, Inter will be desperate to make January a defining month- both on and off the pitch. This could see potential incomings, but, more importantly, the outgoing of needless players.
And Eriksen is among those players deemed surplus to requirements. The 28-year-old has featured just eight times in the Serie A this season, and 12 times in all competitions. Yet, it has not been down to Antonio Conte’s stubbornness for his lack of game time, but, instead the performances from the midfielder himself.
Having featured in 12 games, Eriksen has failed to register a single goal or assist at Inter- making his reportedly imminent transfer no surprise.
Conte and Eriksen: A Pairing That Was Never Going to Work
Antonio Conte is one of the best managers in European football and Christian Eriksen- for some time- was one of the best creative midfielders in the Premier League. So one would believe that, by combining the two, you’d find a match made in heaven. Think again.
The two couldn’t have been a worse pair to put together. Conte’s system requires hard work and aggression- two traits Eriksen has been accused of lacking whilst in Milan.
The Dane’s creativity has never found its place in Conte’s so finely executed Inter Milan system, and likely never will as he looks to depart.
