Inter Milan have confirmed that Christian Eriksen has been transfer listed by the club after falling out of favour under Antonio Conte.
Christian Eriksen Placed on Transfer List
Struggles in Italy
The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder has struggled during his time in Italy and will be hoping to end a nightmare 2020 with a January move.
Having joined in the 2020 January transfer window for £17 million, Eriksen had signed a four-year deal at the Serie A club but it seems that twelve months later he could be on the verge of leaving.
Inter CEO Confirms Eriksen Exit
Speaking to Sky Sports in Italy, Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta said: “Yes, I can confirm that Christian Eriksen is on the transfer list. He’s going to leave in January.
“He’s not functional to our plans and he had difficulty here at Inter. I think it’s right that Christian goes away to find more space.”
The Denmark international has managed just four goals and three assists in 38 matches across all competitions, including just 12 Serie A starts.
Potential Destinations
A number of clubs including Arsenal, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain have all said to be monitoring the situation with the Denmark international.
Eriksen’s availability, according to Gazzetta Dello Sport, is of interest to the Gunners who could be leading the line in a sensational move for the 28-year old.
With the exile of Mesut Ozil, the emergence of Eriksen on to the market could provide an excellent proposition for Mikel Arteta and would be significantly cheaper than Houssem Aouar.
Arsenal’s awful start to the season has seen them slide down to 16th place in the Premier League and the creativity in their side has become a major factor in that reason.
The Denmark midfielder will also be keen to move on and gather minutes ahead of the summer’s European Championships after failing to play to complete 90 minutes for Inter this season.
