Nottingham Forest Will Swan Forward Signs New Deal

Youngster Extends Stay Until 2024

The 20-year-old put pen to paper on a deal that will keep him on Trentside until 2024.

Swan has made a name for himself in recent years after impressing with the Reds’ Under-23 squad.

Tweeting about his new contract, Swan said: “Delighted to extend my time with @NFFC. Hard work starts now.”

A prolific run with Forest’s youth side, scoring eight times so far this season, led to his inclusion within the matchday squad against AFC Bournemouth in November.

He made his debut for the Championship side against Swansea City, coming on as a second-half substitute for Sammy Ameobi.

The pacy forward was an unused substitute in the home clash with Watford but came off the bench at Reading earlier this month.

Swan joined the Forest academy aged 13 and immediately proved his capability in-front of goal.

He scored 14 league goals in the 2018-19 Professional Development League North Campaign, helping the Under-18s to a third-place finish.

A loan spell with Southern League Premier Division South side Truro City followed, where he scored nine goals in nine matches.

Asked how high up the football pyramid Swan could play, Truro City boss Paul Wotton said: “I think he will make a career out of football, that’s for certain.

“Whatever level that is is down to him, you need a bit of luck along the way, but he’s doing great at the moment.

“He’s got into the first team so hopefully that’ll make him even hungrier to stay there.

“The Championship is a very, very tough league so I’m pleased for him that he’s breaking into it.”

Forest take on league leaders Norwich City tomorrow night.
