Nottingham Forest fans have turned to social media to voice their thoughts on a late 1-0 victory at Blackburn Rovers.
Nottingham Forest Fans React to Victory at Blackburn Rovers
‘Three-Month Raincloud Lifted’
The victory, Forest‘s first of the season, came thanks to Joe Lolley‘s 90th-minute deflected strike.
The winger, who had impressed throughout the match, cleverly beat his marker on 89 minutes and watched as his left-footed effort deflected off a defender and beyond the wrong-footed Thomas Kaminski.
There was little to separate the two sides for 89 minutes of the fixture at Ewood Park, before Lolley scored to settle the tie.
A bright start to the game led to Luke Freeman and Lewis Grabban linking up early on. The former fizzed a low cross to Grabban, but the forward was unable to convert from close range.
Further chances fell to Sammy Ameobi and Lyle Taylor – both of which struck the post from opposing corners of the penalty area.
Ameobi came close again with a stabbed effort towards goal which hit the upright. But it was Lolley’s deflected error less than a minute from the end that wrapped up the game.
The result provides Forest with their first set of points of the season – ending a run of four back-to-back defeats in the Championship – and Forest fans are understandably pleased to end such a run.
This result means the world to Forest fans Matt. We’ve had a 3 month raincloud lifted!

Honestly think a scrappy, ugly 1-0 win with a deflected, lucky goal is better for squad cohesion and the future than any other result could have been. Need to follow it up with a win coupled with a good performance on Tuesday to cement the good feeling.

Excellent result. Slightly surprised to not see Mighten in the starting eleven & more surprised to see Figueiredo recalled.
I thought Armstrong & Dolan were going to cause us a lot of problems but Blackburn were underwhelming.
Some momentum heading in to a busy period #NFFC

Granted today wasn’t a great performance but Chris Hughton’s brought me more joy and excitement in the last week than Lamouchi has for the last 6 months, I’m falling in love with football again. In Hughton We Trust #NFFC

Big week and potentially season defining week for #nffc
Bit dramatic? Don't think so, two wins gets us up and roaring, two poor results see's us looking up for the season

How can a change of manager give such a fast reversal of fortune? A couple of weeks ago what we did to Blackburn has happened to us so often in recent games, with no sign of it being the other way around.
It’s a funny old game.#nffc— Paul Elliott (@Puds1970) October 17, 2020

How many of us screamed “don’t shoot!!” at out laptops when Lolley was winding up to score the winner? #NFFC

One thing I loved today, Harry Arter when that goal went in. He made sure every player enjoyed that moment as much as he did, he plays Tuesday and he captains. #nffc
