Southampton are looking to sign Everton winger Theo Walcott on loan, according to Paul Joyce. The Saints, though, are yet to make an official bid for the Englishman.
Walcott has been struggling to break into the starting line-up for Everton this season. The arrival of James Rodriguez has seen the former Arsenal man drop down the pecking order.

Addressing the Lack of Depth on the Right-Wing
The right-wing has been an area of major concern for Southampton for a couple of seasons now. Despite having several versatile players in their squad, the Saints have lacked a quality natural right-winger for quite some time. During this period, the likes of Josh Sims, Juanmi and Iago Falque have all tried and failed to establish themselves in the starting line-up.
Theo Walcott, on the other hand, is an established right-winger. The England international, who started his career with Southampton, has been an ever-present figure in the Premier League for over a decade. In close to 15 seasons, the winger has made 347 league appearances, scoring 75 goals and making 51 assists.
Theo Walcott Has Been Struggling Following His Everton Move
The last couple of seasons, though, have been harsh on the Theo Walcott. The 31-year-old ended an 11-year stay at Arsenal in 2018 to join Everton for a £20 million. The transfer, though, has failed to revive his career.
Since his move, Walcott has really struggled with injuries and lack of form. In three seasons at the Merseyside club, the 31-year-old has made 77 league appearances but had just ten goals and eight assists during the period.
Walcott looks unlikely to break into the Everton first-team. The arrival of James Rodriguez and the spectacular start to the season for Toffees has seen Walcott play just four minutes in the league this season.
