Former French U20 international Michael Cuisance has signed for Marseille on loan, with an option to buy, from Bayern Munich, according to Mohamed Bouhafsi. The midfielder was close to signing for Leeds United before the deal collapsed.
The French midfielder will be back in France three years after leaving Nice for Borussia Monchengladbach in 2017. The 20-year-old will sign a season-long loan deal with Marseille with an option to buy the midfielder permanently.

Cuisance Finally Completes a Move Away From Bayern Munich
Michael Cuisance has finally completed a move away from the Bavarian giants. The Frenchman will sign a season-long loan deal with Marseille with an option to buy.
The midfielder was a frustrated figure at the Allianz Arena since his move from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2019. The 20-year-old rarely featured in the first-team and spent most of his time with the reserves. He made just 11 appearances all season as Bayern Munich won the treble for the second time.
Earlier in the week, the French midfielder was subject to a big-money move to Leeds United before the deal collapsed. According to David Orenstein of The Athletic, the move failed to materialize due to a failed medical while Fabrizio Romano attributed to payment issues.
A Shrewd Transfer Window for Marseille
Marseille have been quietly going around their transfer business this window. Michael Cuisance will be the fourth U22 player to arrive in Marseille this season. The likes of promising talents Luis Henrique, Leonardo Balerdi and Pape Gueye have already joined the Ligue 1 giants earlier in the season.
Experienced targets like Spanish defender Alvaro and Japanese international Yuto Nagatomo were also added during this transfer window.
Bouna Sarr goes the other way
Following the loan signing of Michael Cuisance, Bouna Sarr has gone the other way, signing a four-year deal with the Bavarian giants. Bayern Munich had been on the transfer market for a back-up right-back for Benjamin Pavard. The French right-back was officially announced by Bayern Munich just before the Bundesliga transfer deadline.
As well, the club have confirmed that Maxime Lopez has completed a permanent move to Serie A side Sassuolo.
