Wolves Signing Has Significant Potential
The 19-year-old French U21 international arrives at Molineux with a long career ahead of him. He has some experience of senior football with Angers in Ligue 1.
He made 17 appearances in the league last season, before missing over a month with a fractured jaw.
Aït-Nouri delivered three assists in the last campaign and has shown significant potential.
The left-back has already contributed for Angers in his three appearances so far this season, making an assist in the 3-2 win over Stade Brest. In signing him on loan, Wolves are in an ideal position to assess his ability in the Premier League and decide if they want to pay for his services.
Aït-Nouri is represented by well-known football agent Jorge Mendes, who has strong links to Wolves and would no doubt have played a major part in this transfer.
Aït-Nouri Proud to Join Wolverhampton Wanderers
“I’d just like to say how immensely proud and happy I am right now, and I’m thrilled to be joining this club,” Aït-Nouri told Wolves’ official website.
“I’m here to try and show everyone here exactly what I’m capable of, the manager, my teammates and the supporters. I hope I can have a great season here.
“It’s a massive club, a big club and I always had it very clear in my mind that I wanted to come to Wolves and so I’m very happy.
“I’ll be hoping to settle into the club as quickly as I can, and with the help of my teammates, get in the best shape I can, and to try and play as many games as I can in the Premier League because it’s a league you dream about playing in.
“I can’t wait to get started working and training with my new coach,” Aït-Nouri added. “I’ve been able to have a chat with him a bit. He’s shown he has confidence in me, and he is a very endearing character.”
Series of Positive Events
The announcement comes after Wolves’ 1-0 win over Fulham on Sunday afternoon. A positive reaction to last week’s 4-0 loss to West Ham United going into the international break.
The signing of Rayan Aït-Nouri also follows the extension of Raul Jimenez‘s contract at the club.
