REPORT: Galatasaray in Talks with Fulham for Jean Michael Seri Loan

Seri

Galatasaray are in talks with Fulham to sign midfielder Jean Michael Seri on loan for the season, according to Mike McGrath of the Daily Telegraph. The news comes after a turbulent couple of years at Craven Cottage, going from record signing to transfer flop within a matter of months.

The midfielder spent the season on loan at the Turkish club last year and looks likely to do the same this campaign despite Fulham’s promotion to the Premier League.

Galatasaray in Talks for Seri Loan

The End of a Fulham Nightmare for Seri?

Arriving in 2018 for a record fee, Jean Michael Seri was meant to play a key role in a new era at Craven Cottage following their promotion to the Premier League. Relegation soon followed, however, as Fulham and Seri failed to impress.

And, as relegation ensured, Seri, signed for £25 million, soon jumped the sinking ship towards the safety of a Galatasaray loan move. Now, to extend his time away from English football, talks are reportedly underway with Galatasaray over another loan move.

The deal would, crucially, suit all parties, too. Seri would get his move away from the potential struggles of Premier League football and, Galatasaray would get the chance to see the Frenchman back in Turkey where he made 27 appearances last season.

Fulham Seeking Survival

Heading into the Premier League season, survival would have been the main aim for Fulham when setting targets for the year. Just four games in, however, and Scott Parker’s side sit rock bottom with zero points to their name.

Survival looks set to be a difficult goal to fulfil once more following a lack of reinforcements in the summer at Fulham. Scott Parker will certainly hope for improvement before its too late to salvage a season which looks likely to feature a relegation battle.
