Following the arrival of new manager Andrea Pirlo, central defender Daniele Rugani is reportedly nearing a move Rennes on a season-long loan deal. According to Fabrizio Romano, Juventus are in advanced talks to offload the defender until June of 2021 in a loan deal worth up to £1.5 million.
The reported move comes at the perfect for the 26-year-old who made just 14 appearances in all competitions last season at Juventus. At such a peak age, too, Rugani needs to be playing week in week out to gain any remaining chance of reaching the very top of European football.

Right Move for Both Parties
As previously mentioned, the reported move comes as the perfect for Daniele Rugani. He desperately needs game time, and Juventus have simply become a step too far for the Italian. And that’s where Rennes come in.
The French club, looking to make it back to back Champions League qualifications, could do with the European experience of Rugani. His experience may prove little use to Juventus, but it will be immensely appreciated by those in France looking to add the necessary quality to progress in Ligue 1.
Chance to Prove Juventus Doubters Wrong
The chance to play week in week out is an opportunity that Rugani must take. It is his chance to prove the doubters in Italy and become a star in the underdog side of Rennes. Should he make use of the reported opportunity, too, Rugani could be handed a place under Andrea Pirlo at Juventus.
The deal certainly makes sense for both parties with Juventus offloading a player they no longer need for at least a year, and Rennes reportedly set to get themselves a central defender with European experience under his belt.
