After a torrid summer of important outgoings, saying goodbye to Nathan Ake and Callum Wilson, Bournemouth could be about to lose another one of their star players. According to Fabrizio Romano, Torino have opened talks with Bournemouth to sign striker Joshua King.
The Norwegian international is yet to start in the Championship and looks increasingly likely to leave Bournemouth this window. King’s potential exit will certainly be a cause for concern for those in charge at Bournemouth, who will be desperate to bounce straight back up to the top flight with promotion this season.
Torino Open Talks for Josh King
An Unexpected Move Away From England on the Horizon?
If reports are to be believed, King could complete an unexpected move away from English football in favour of a Serie A switch. The Norwegian forward has been a consistent presence in English football for almost the entirety of his career.
Yet, with Torino opening talks, we could be set to see Josh King take a new league and country by storm. The move, if it happened, would certainly be one of intrigue when considering Torino’s Italian status.
The Italian club are often seen as the small fish in the growing depths of the Serie A. The potential signing of King will only enhance the Torino reputation from that of simple survival to the comforts of mid-table.
For Josh King, the move would provide him with the chance to impress a new audience following years of English football. Perhaps the move could be what the forward needs to elevate his career to better, and previously unseen, heights.
Only time will tell whether a deal can be made between Bournemouth and Torino, however, with King, for now, forced to wait it out in the unwanted struggles of Championship football at a club he seemingly no longer wants to play for.
