REPORT: Tottenham Hotspur Make Progress With Milan Skriniar and Arkadiusz Milik Deals

Tottenham Milan Skriniar

Tottenham Hotspur have made progress on the transfer front and are set to get even busier before the window shuts, according to Fabrizio Romano. Spurs are advancing in their attempts to sign Milan Skriniar and Arkadiusz Milik, and hope to complete deals for the pair before the window shuts in October.

Spurs, who last week signed Real Madrid duo Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon, are now looking to improve their squad by signing the two Serie A stars. Jose Mourinho has been very vocal about bringing in another striker.  However, the search for a centre-back has not been so publicised.

Quiet Search for a Centre-Back

Spurs have gone about their transfer business relatively quiet this summer. The signings of Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon progressed rapidly and were only publicised in the latter stages.

Similarly, Jose Mourinho’s side have gone about their business with Skriniar in a similar fashion. Since Jan Vertonghen departed for Benfica in August, Spurs have wanted a central defender. However, up until now, it seemed that they were not interested in bolstering their defensive options.

However, Mourinho has now labelled Skriniar as his favourite option. Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the only thing that is standing in the way for Spurs is his €60 million price-tag.

Milik Links Intensify as Move to Roma Collapses

The North London club had previously been linked with Napoli forward Arkadiusz Milik. However, the striker looked nailed on for a move to AS Roma.

Mourinho’s luck with bringing strikers to Tottenham this summer has, thus far, been rather unsuccessful. The Portuguese manager had a long-list of both domestic and European targets that were either uninterested or secured moves elsewhere. Harry Kane’s dominance at the club was one of the reasons why several forwards turned down a move to Spurs. However, it has not stopped the club from continuing their pursuit.

According to Romano, Milik has been offered to Spurs. They are expected to decide soon whether they will move forward with the transfer.
