Following the completion of a deal to sign Brazilian central midfielder Allan, Everton have unveiled the signing of another midfielder to solidify the middle of the park. Abdoulaye Doucouré arrives from Watford on an undisclosed fee on a three year deal.
The midfielder spent five years at Watford before relegation to the Championship signalled a switch to Merseyside. He becomes the latest statement signing to walk through the doors of Goodison Park, following Allan and James Rodriguez.

Everton Building a Team Fit for Europa League Qualification?
Last season, Carlo Ancelotti’s arrival signalled a change in mentality at Everton, but it is yet to see a change in position on the points board. The Toffees finished 12th with the Italian manager unable to complete the mid-season revival.
With new players at the helm, however, Ancelotti should have a squad capable of qualifying for the Europa League. Allan and Doucouré bring much-needed solidity and grit to the midfield, while the likes of Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin bring the threatening sting in attack needed to compete with the best.
To put the cherry on top of the European cake, they also have Carlo Ancelotti. The former Champions League winner is as good as it gets for any club. His plethora of experience should lift Everton to previously unimaginable heights.
Everything seems to be heading in the right direction at Goodison Park for the first time in a long time. Now, they must avoid any severe crashes on the road to success.
What Was Said?
After putting pen to paper on a deal, the midfielder stated:
“I have been waiting a long time to come here and now it has happened so I am very happy,” Doucoure told evertontv.
“I am so excited to start.
“I feel at the top of my career at the moment. Mentally, physically, I feel at my best.
“I think Everton is the right place now to have a step up and to keep progressing.
“And with the manager and the team we’ve got, I think I have plenty of time to progress.
“With Mr Ancelotti here it is a good choice for me.
“I am very excited about the project, we are bringing new players like James and Allan.
“Big players.
“I want to be part of that project.”
