With a deal for Jadon Sancho coming to an abrupt halt, Manchester United have reportedly turned their attention towards Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek. According to Fabrizio Romano and Mike Verweij, the Dutchman has agreed personal terms with the club, putting pen to paper on a deal until June 2025.
Romano and Verweij also reported that Manchester United will submit a bid of around £40 million as early as tonight as they look to complete the deal by the start of next week.

The Signing to Kick Start Manchester United’s Window?
Everything looked ready to come into fruition for Manchester United this summer with the arrival of Jadon Sancho. As September arrives, however, we are yet to see a player presented at Old Trafford.
There has been no news for a while now in regards to a potential deal for Jadon Sancho. The fact is, United’s summer was looking rather bleak until now.
The potential arrival of van de Beek should kickstart United’s summer, and give the fans something to talk about ahead of the season. A midfield partnership of Paul Pogba and the Dutchman is certainly an exciting possibility to think about should Van de Beek sign.
The Difference Maker for Manchester United?
The Dutchman could well turn out to be the pivotal difference maker between top four and a title race for Manchester United. The Dutchman has shown his ability to control a game on the biggest of stages, too, with impressive performances against Real Madrid in 2019.
For van de Beek, the move, should it be completed, signals the beginning of a new chapter for his career. He did all he could at Ajax, from winning league titles to reaching the Champions League semi-finals.
Now, however, he looks set to finally swap Amsterdam for England and Manchester in one of the most anticipated deals of the summer.
