With rumours circulating of Gabriel Magalhães’ imminent arrival to the Premier League, Fabrizio Romano has reported that a medical at Arsenal has been complete. The Brazilian will reportedly sign a deal until 2025 with the fee, according to Romano, set to be £30 million, plus add ons.
The young defender looks likely to become the second Brazilian through the Arsenal door this summer, following Willian’s arrival from Chelsea.
Magalhães Deal Nearing Completion
Arteta Building for the Future
Mikel Arteta, with one trophy already lifted a high, will now look towards re-establishing a structured plan to secure Arsenal’s future; a plan that is reportedly set to begin with the Magalhães transfer.
The 22-year-old comes into an Arsenal setup full of young talent. Gabriel Martinelli looks ready to lead the line for years to come; Bukayo Saka looks capable of playing in a plethora of positions and William Saliba, and Magalhães should prove to be a sturdy defensive pair once the time is right.
The fact is, while Arsenal don’t look all too convincing right now, they could be a top side once again in a few years.
Magalhães an Impressive Coup by Arsenal
It’s no wonder Arsenal fans are delighted with the reported transfer of Magalhães. The young Brazilian attracted plenty of interest, particularly from Manchester United this summer, yet, ultimately, chose project Arsenal instead.
The deal acts as hope for the north Londoners that, despite not qualifying for the Champions League, they can still compete in the transfer window and attract top players.
We are now seeing Mikel Arteta slowly, but surely, begin to form his team, with his tactical mind the groundwork for success. Now, with the right players at Arteta’s disposal, a return to the top six, or even the top four, could be on the cards this season.
