The deal to take Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester United is growing ever closer. The 20-year old winger is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s top summer target and United are in advanced talks with the German club. Fabrizio Romano reports that Sancho has agreed personal terms with the Red Devils. He claims Sancho will sign a five-year deal with United and join in the coming weeks.
Jadon Sancho Agrees Five-Year Deal With Manchester United
A Deal Is Close
Manchester United have moved very quickly to secure their top target. Borussia Dortmund set a deadline of the August 10 for United to agree on a deal. It appears United are taking no risks in getting a deal over the line, therefore are giving in to the demands.
The clubs are yet to agree to a fee, despite Fabrizio Romano’s latest update about personal terms.
Previous reports say that Manchester United are prepared to pay for Sancho in instalments with Dortmund agreeing. The difference is the fee. Manchester United value the winger at around £80 million, whereas Dortmund wants closer to £100 million.
Fabrizio Romano also says that talks over the fee are at an advanced stage, saying talks have been going on “all day”. He also says that all parties are “confident” that a deal can be completed very soon.
Top Target Almost Secured
Manchester United are desperate to complete this deal. They have acted unusually sharp to strike a deal, with the transfer window opening just last week.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wanted to buy a right-winger this summer and Sancho was always the top target. This would bolster United’s attacking ranks even further after the current attacking players had a great season. Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, and Mason Greenwood scored 57 goals in all competitions so far. Adding 20 goals and 20 assists Sancho only adds even more attacking potency at Old Trafford.
