Young Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali is one of the hottest commodities on the transfer market. The freshly turned 20-year-old impressed plenty of eye’s across Serie A before the season was suspended. And according to Gazzetta Dello Sport, Tonali and Brescia have narrowed the pursuers to two; Juventus and Inter Milan.
Report: Inter Milan And Juventus Circling Sandro Tonali
Juventus Chasing 20-year-old
Let’s start with Juventus. The eight-time defending Serie A champions are looking to reshape their midfield this summer. Sporting Director Fabio Paratici wants to make Tonali the key to their midfield reshape, but it will not be easy.
Juventus and Inter both have Tonali valued at around €35 million, while Brescia President Massimo Cellino wants €50 million for the young Italian. That will lead to both clubs getting creative to complete this transfer.
Juventus’s plan, according to Gazzetta Dello Sport, would be a two-year loan with an obligation to buy in the summer of 2022. That deal would also allow Brescia to pick from some of Juventus’s Cantera players as well. However, it doesn’t seem like Cellino wants to listen to that.
Inter Also Hopeful of Loan Deal
Inter Milan are in a similar situation. They too have proposed a loan with an obligation to buy but after only one season instead of two. Inter’s deal also includes performance-based bonuses and a guarantee for young players going to Brescia on loan. Juventus have so far been unwilling to go to that extent in their negotiations.
But none of this will be effective if it doesn’t interest Massimo Cellino. Cellino has made it clear that he wants to hold out for the best possible deal. He also understands that Tonali wants to stay in Italy, which will make it harder to find the best deal. So, in the end, Cellino will be waiting until Juventus or Inter Milan can produce a deal he will find suitable.
