With Dries Mertens potentially heading out the exit door in the summer, Napoli will want to be swift in their search for a replacement. Meanwhile, with West Ham United enduring a constant threat of relegation, a move for Felipe Anderson could be on the cards.

REPORT: Napoli Interested in Felipe Anderson

Napoli Keen to Land West Ham Winger

The Daily Mail, along with Corriere Dello Sport, have recently reported Napoli’s interest in the 26-year-old West Ham winger. The move itself would prove practical for Napoli who would be buying an experienced Serie A winger in Felipe Anderson. The Brazilian played for Lazio in the Serie A for five years before opting to join the Hammers for a fee of £36 million.

Anderson could even come at a cut price for Napoli, who face the possibility of buying from a Championship club in the summer with West Ham only out of the relegation zone on goal difference. A West Ham relegation would likely signal a mass exodus of top players, including Anderson. This makes a deal even more attractive for Napoli and Gennaro Gattuso who could potentially get themselves one of the bargains of the summer.

Perfect Move for the Brazilian?

And the move would also make perfect sense for Felipe Anderson, who may see a move back to Italy as the perfect chance to get his career back on track. The West Ham winger has scored just one goal in the Premier League this season, highlighting just how far the Brazilian has fallen in recent years and how much a change of scenery is needed.

It is clear that a deal of Felipe Anderson to Napoli is a real possibility in the summer with the Italian side looking to replace players likely to depart with Anderson, who may feel as though a return to Italy will signal a return to his best form that we saw in the Serie A with Lazio.
