Performances in the SPFL, Europa League and other competitions have gained Ianis Hagi the limelight amongst empathic Rangers fans. Will he continue to live up to the expectations? Will he be signed? More importantly, will there enough funds for Rangers?
Rangers Desire to Keep Ianis Hagi
According to the Sun Football, who quoted ex-Rangers defender Dorin Goian in backing Ianis to stay at Ibrox, Ianis will snub clubs from other parts of Europe to stay with the Scottish outfit.
The financial details
A bargain buy out option for £4.5 million is on Ianis’ contract and Rangers have seemingly got the financial powers within their club to trigger this clause. Ianis Hagi has been running the show at Ibrox for Rangers numerous times this season, meaning he is coming close to winning the fans over and to fully back him.
Performance this season
The Romanian added silky skills and playmaking ability to Rangers’ forward line usually playing in behind the striker or the wing. The comeback against Braga highlighted his lightning-quick decisions and flair which he uses to instil a unique drive to their attacks plus set pieces.
Given time, Ianis Hagi will most likely be above the usual quality seen in the SPFL if this rapid development continues, and if Rangers are able to continue the nurturing of his talent correctly. A few more quality signings around the Romanian would also be best of their interests to link up a good team for him to thrive within.
The conflict of interests
Serie A giants S.S Lazio are also heavily interested in securing the services of the Romanian wonderkid. Genk (who Hagi is on loan from) is also keen on having him back in Belgium but could be tempted by Rangers to cash in on him if a decent sum is offered.
