No matter how things end up, Manchester City will have plenty of big clubs watching them this summer. Between the coronavirus and City’s European ban, there is plenty of speculation around the club’s future. Naturally, this has lead to some interesting rumours bringing about this Manchester City transfer update.
Manchester City Transfer Update
Gabriel Jesus to Juventus?
The report comes from the Italian newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport, translated by SI, which says that Juventus love Gabriel Jesus. It specifically points to Juventus Director Fabio Paratici being enamoured with Jesus. And according to the report, Paratici isn’t the only one.
Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri has fallen ‘in love’ with the Brazilian striker and reportedly sees a perfect role for Jesus in between Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala. However, there would be a few issues to get over first.
Firstly, Juventus need to reinforce their midfield. It has been expected that they would prioritise a player in that position. The other hurdle would be Manchester City themselves. The report even states that it is highly unlikely that Manchester City would listen to any offers from the Italian giants.
Riyad Mahrez Leave Manchester City?
Another rumour that has sparked up during this pandemic involves Paris Saint-Germain making an offer for Riyad Mahrez. This comes via The Sun, so take it with a grain of salt, but the basis for that rumour makes a lot of sense.
It is no secret that Real Madrid is trying to sign world superstar Kylian Mbappe. If they are successful, PSG would have a large sum of money and an even larger hole to replace. So naturally, someone like Riyad Mahrez makes a lot of sense. The Algerian winger was born in France and has played professionally there before.
It is his skill and relative availability that makes him an attractive option for PSG. At least from the outside. However, it is highly unlikely that City will allow Mahrez to move on this summer.
Leroy Sane Update
According to Bild, Bayern Munich director Hasan Salihamidzic met with Sane’s new representation recently to discuss a move, but that was an ‘unofficial meeting’. Sane’s new agency can only take official meetings after April 1, and Bild expects Bayern to have a meeting, perhaps via phone call, with Sane’s representatives.
They have also intimated that Barcelona and Real Madrid might be able to get involved, the longer these negotiations drag on. Sane has not clearly stated his intentions, nor have Bayern. Therefore, all involved are left unsure of the future.
Bild also reported that there have been some discussions of a swap involving Sane and David Alaba. The Austrian defender is considering leaving Bayern in the summer but prefers a move to Spain, Real Madrid or Barcelona specifically.
