Yannick Carrasco has signed for Atletico Madrid on loan for the rest of the season. He joins from Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang.

Yannick Carrasco Returns to Madrid
The former Atletico Madrid winger returns to Europe for the first time since departing Spain for China in 2018. He played for Dalian Yifang in the Chinese Super League, where he scored 22 goals in 49 appearances.
At 26-years-old, Carrasco should be in the prime of his career. He will be out to prove a point, as many criticised his move to China as simply money grabbing. He certainly has the talent to improve the Atletico squad and fans will be hoping this is what happens. His return to the club comes just two years after leaving for China.
Career So Far
Carrasco started his youth career in his native Belgium with Diegem Sport and Genk. He was then picked up by Monaco, featuring 30 times for their B team and scoring ten goals. As well, he scored 15 times in 81 games for Monaco’s first team.
After his spell in France, Carrasco completed a move to La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid. He scored his first goal for the club in a 2-0 win away to Real Sociedad. He also scored in the Champions League final against rivals Real Madrid having come on as a substitute. Atletico, though, went on to lose the game.
Since making his international debut in 2015, Carrasco has gone on to feature 41 times for Belgium, scoring six goals.
He scored his first international goal in a 4-0 win against Hungary in the round of 1 at the Euro 2016 tournament in France. His World Cup debut came at the 2018 edition of the competition in Russia, starting Belgium’s opening match against Panama at left wing-back.
