Loan Deal

Diakhaby, 23, joined Huddersfield from Monaco in July 2018.

The tricky winger has made 18 appearances this season but has not featured since November 30.

A former France Under-21 international, Diakhaby is Forest’s first signing of the January transfer window.

Diakhaby could make his debut in Forest’s home clash with Reading in the Championship on Wednesday night.

On the Move

After signing for Forest, Diakhaby spoke of his eagerness to help the Reds’ push for promotion.

He said: “I feel very good and very confident, I am happy to sign for Nottingham Forest.

“The coach called me and I am very excited to show how I can play for this club and hopefully we can go up to the Premier League.

“The coach said that he wanted me to come and play for him, for this club.

“He told me about the team spirit in the dressing room, that it was very good and all of my teammates are focused and happy. That is the reason why I came.

He added: “The club is in a good position in the Championship. It is a long time since playing in the Premier League.

“It is a club with a good history and I think, with the staff and players here, they have done a good job but we have to keep going.

“There is five months left, we have a lot of games so everything is possible.”

Talking about what Forest fans should expect from him, he said: “I am still young, 23, so maybe I have some experience but I have to prove day after day, game after game.

“I like to dribble with the ball, use my speed, my left foot and to make the difference. I always want to go forward and score goals or give assists. I like good football.”
