Tottenham Hotspur are to consider the immediate future of young midfielder Jack Clarke, according to Sky Sports.
Tottenham Hotspur to Consider Jack Clarke Future in January
Recalled From Leeds United
Jack Clarke is expected to be recalled by Spurs this January.
It is believed to be to allow Jose Mourinho to assess his first-team capabilities.
Clarke, 19, has played just three times since returning to Elland Road on-loan after making an £8.5 million move to Spurs.
Mourinho’s predecessor, Mauricio Pochettino, let Clarke return to Elland Road but Mourinho wants to cast an eye over the teenager before deciding on his future.
It is believed Mourinho is debating whether he can join the first-team or whether he will be loaned elsewhere for the remainder of the season.
Tottenham Transfer Interest
Mourinho is also reportedly considering bringing new players to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
With a right-back their top priority, Sky Sports News claim that Elseid Hysaj and Hiroki Sakai are among Mourinho’s preferred candidates.
Hysaj has made just five appearances for Napoli this term, last season he made 35 appearances in all competitions.
The 25-year-old is a well-thought-of player in Italy.
Marseille’s Sakai, 29, has featured 15 times for the French side but.
Spurs could be forced to part with a fair sum of cash if they wish to sign Sakai.
The defender is tied to a contract until 2022.
The London side do, however, have concerns over Sakai’s age and whether he would be a suitable long-term investment or a short-term plug.
Sakai, a former Hannover 96 defender, has made 56 appearances for Japan and represented them at two World Cups.
Since joining Marseille in 2016, the 29-year-old has made 122 appearances.
That tally includes five assists in 32 appearances in all competitions last season.
