Transfer Rumours: Fabio Borini, Jadon Sancho, Caglar Soyuncu and Erling Braut Haaland
Sancho Favours Spain Move
Top Clubs in England could be set to be disappointed in their pursuit of Jadon Sancho. Liverpool and Manchester United are among those hoping to sign the England international at the end of the season. However, Callum Vurley of the Star reports that the Borussia Dortmund star would prefer a move to La Liga over the Premier League. It is understood that should he move, Real Madrid or Barcelona are his preferred destinations.
The report suggests that Sancho is unhappy at Dortmund and could be set to move on. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a huge admirer of the 19-year-old and is believed to be the Red Devils top target. Sancho’s recent admission will come as a huge blow to United and any other interested clubs. Spain’s top two clubs could be set to battle at the end of the season at the latest for the signature of the English wonder kid.
Fabio Borini to Return to Premier League?
Former Sunderland fan-favourite Fabio Borini could be heading back to the Premier League. Craig Johns of the Chronicle reports that the Italian is set to leave AC Milan in January in search of first-team football. It is believed that Crystal Palace are interested in the ex-Liverpool forward.
Borini played for the Black Cats in two spells. His first being particulary memorable for fans. The forward scored the winner in the Wear-Tyne Derby with a thunderous strike to win the game 2-1. He also scored in the 3-0 win at Newcastle United to help complete a league double over their rivals. The forward also scored the opening goal in the 2014 League Cup Final against Manchester City.
Borni has featured little this season under Milan’s new manager Stefano Pioli, amasing just 70 minutes so far. A move away from the San Siro now looks likely with Crystal Palace a possible destination. Should a move to Selhurst Park materialise, Borini would link up with former Black Cat team-mates Patrick van Aanholt and Connor Wickham.
Leicester Star Will Not be Moving
Leicester City defender Calgar Soyuncu is set to disppoint clubs interested in signing him. Jordan Blackwell of the Leicester Mercury, reports that the agent of Soyuncu insists that the Turkish international will not be leaving The Foxes any time soon. City are currently second in the Premier League with many hailing the performances of the 23-year-old.
Manchester City and top clubs in Soyuncu’s native Turkey have been linked with a move for the defender. Signed for £19 million from Freiburg last season, the central defender took time to adapt to his new surroundings. He made just four starts in his debut season; however, this season he has played every minute, successfully filling the void left by Harry Maguire.
United to Make Haaland Move
Manchester United have been handed a boost in their attempts to sign striker Erling Braut Haaland. It was originally believed that a clause between his current club Red Bull Salzburg and RB Leipzig existed, allowing the Budeliga club to sign him for a cut-price fee. However, it has emerged that no such clause exists. Rich Jones of the Mirror reports that Red Bull Salzburg sporting director Christoph Freund has deined the existance of the clause. It was originaly believed that the clause allowed Leipzig to buy Haaland for £25.7 million. A fraction of what other clubs would need to pay.
United now believe they are in pole position to sign their number one striking target. United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has worked with Haaland previously and is confident a deal can be completed. The Red Devils are short on firepower at present and desperately want reinforcements. United allowed Romelu Lukaku to leave in the summer and failed to replace him. Haaland has been attracting interest from some of Europe’s top clubs. United may have to act fast if they wish to get Haaland to Old Trafford.
