Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 14 Preview

Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 14 kicks off a week with a plethora of matches. Each team will play three times in less than two weeks, so proper planning is essential at this stage. Read on for some helpful tips on how to tackle this busy period.

Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 14 Picks

Goalkeepers

Nick Pope looks to be the standout keeper option this week. He has kept back-to-back clean sheets now and has a good record at home with four clean sheets in six matches with Burnley.

Kasper Schmeichel has a good home fixture as well against struggling Everton and with a solid Leicester City defence in front of him, his FPL owners will be expecting another clean sheet.

Paulo Gazzaniga is another reasonable option, although Tottenham Hotspur’s defence still looks shaky despite the arrival of Jose Mourinho, having conceded twice against both West Ham United and Olympiakos.

Defenders

Ricardo Pereira, Çaglar Söyüncü and Ben Chilwell are fantastic options from an in-form Leicester City side.

Alternatively, Charlie Taylor is available at a basement price of £4.2. A clean sheet is very much possible this week for him. His Burnley teammate, James Tarkowski, has scored a whopping 29 points in the last couple of games. He might be a better option at a slightly more expensive price.

Serge Aurier looks to be Mourinho’s choice at right-back. The Frenchman has been attacking down that flank on a regular basis in the last couple of matches. He got himself a goal on Tuesday night in the Champions League, so his confidence will be high.

Trent Alexander-Arnold was benched against Napoli last night so should start this week. He should do well, although Liverpool‘s lack of clean sheets is a worry for his owners. Andrew Robertson played the full match against Napoli so his owners should be a bit worried about his starting status.

Midfielders

Son Heung-min is always a huge threat and under Jose Mourinho. He seems to be playing just as well. One should consider Dele Alli also as his form seems to have taken a sudden upturn under the new manager.

Sadio Mané is in great form and has a decent home fixture. He should be in everyone’s team, while Christian Pulisic has been pretty impressive of late and got himself on the score sheet in Chelsea’s draw against Valencia on Wednesday night as well. He looks to be a solid pick at home to West Ham.

Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling are both fantastic options this week as well, away to Newcastle United and Harvey Barnes, Anthony Martial, Dwight McNeil, James MaddisonYouri Tielemans and Ayoze Pérez are all options worth considering.

Strikers

Jamie Vardy has scored seven goals in his last five matches. Apart from that, he is also getting assists with three in the last four fixtures. He really is the man this season. Amazingly, only 41.6% of FPL players own him.

The injury to Tammy Abraham has shaken things up a bit for FPL managers. Some will be inclined to drop him whereas others will want to bench him and wait for his return. With a juicy home fixture against West Ham this week, his owners will pray for him to be fit. One needs to wait for team news before taking a decision.

Sergio Agüero is also out for a while so his owners will be looking to switch to another striker. Raúl Jiménez is a great option for them as the Mexican has been in superb form this season. However, Sheffield United are no pushovers and they will fancy their chances against a tired Wolves side who have a match on Thursday night against Braga in the Europa League.

Marcus Rashford, Danny Ings, Chris Wood, Ashley Barnes, Gabriel Jesus and Harry Kane are all decent options this week as well. Kane could be a direct swap for the Agüero owners.
