Transfer Rumours: Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich
Manchester United to Return for Wilfried Zaha
According to Dan King of the Sun on Sunday, Manchester United are readying a summer move for Wilfried Zaha. The Ivorian international endured a torrid time in his first spell at Old Trafford under Sir Alex Ferguson. However, United look set to offer him a second chance, as they look to test the resolve of Crystal Palace with a £70 million bid. After just 13 goals in their first 11 games, United are crying out for more creativity in the final third. Now, more developed than during his first spell, Zaha could become a star in Manchester.
Tottenham Ready Bid for Depay
John Richardson of the Mirror writes that Tottenham are readying a move for Memphis Depay of Lyon. The Dutch winger is another player to have had a nightmare spell at Manchester United, but looks a player reborn in Ligue 1. Due to his recent brilliant form, Tottenham want to offer the dangerous winger a second chance in the Premier League. The North London side are reportedly ready to offer £50 million to secure his services, and are keeping tabs on teammate Moussa Dembele as well.
Chelsea Eyeing Milinkovic-Savic
Chelsea could not sign any new players during their summer transfer window, thanks to the transfer ban in place. The ban originally encompassed that window as well as the January transfer window next year. However, the Blues are still contesting it, and should the ban be lifted, they have already pinpointed their number one target. If John Richardson of the Mirror is correct, Chelsea will make the £70 million signing of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic their priority this January. The midfielder’s experience would be a great compliment to Lampard’s youthful side. However, this is a big if for the London outfit.
Bayern Want Leno As Number One
According to Alan Nixon of the Sun on Sunday, Bayern Munich have highlighted Bernd Leno as their potential new number one to replace Manuel Neuer. The German champions are concerned at the form of their current number one, and could soon look to replace him. Leno took a while to become Arsenal’s number one, but now looks fully established there. Yet, he remains Germany’s third-choice keeper behind Neuer and Marc-André Ter Stegen. A move to Munich could change that, though.
