Transfer Rumours: Quincy Promes, Olivier Giroud and Christian Eriksen
Quincy Promes Open to EPL Move
Jonathan Spence of the Mail Online is reporting that Ajax star Quincy Promes is open to a move to the Premier League. At least two clubs are reportedly interested. Those being Liverpool and Arsenal. The forward scored in this weeks Champions League thriller at Chelsea in an excellent performance.
Promes only moved back to Holland in the summer, signing from Sevilla. He has gone on to score eight goals in 12 games. However, clubs looking to sign Promes in the near future may have to wait a little longer. He is under contract at Ajax until 2024.
Giroud to Milan?
Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud could be set to leave Stamford Bridge in January. Gazzetta Dello Sport claim that discussions with Inter Milan have already taken place. This comes after the France national coach Didier Deschamps claimed that Giroud needed more game time should he want to be a part of Euro 2020.
The veteran striker has made just six appearances this season for the Blues. Fellow striker Tammy Abraham has been in excellent goalscoring form, keeping the Frenchman out of the team. Giroud’s contract ends next summer at Chelsea and at 33-years old, the time could be right to move on. Especially if he wants to remain a part of the France team.
United Want Eriksen in January
Daniel Blackham of the Express reports that Manchester United have opened talks with Christian Eriksen. The 27-year-old is keen to leave Spurs and United could be his route out. Eriksen had originally wanted to move to Real Madrid. However, that deal looks increasingly unlikely and United could now clinch the deal.
The report suggests that United are preparing a bid of £42 million. The want-away playmaker could leave Spurs next summer for free. With a new contract unlikely, Spurs could be willing to accept United’s offer. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate to add more quality to his side and Eriksen fits the bill. Spurs will not want to sell to a Premier League rival; however, as time goes on, they may have little choice.
