Arsene Wenger Confirms Turning Down Premier League Offers Amid FIFA Link

Arsene Wenger

Arsenal legend Arsene Wenger has been out of football since May 2018, when he stepped down as Gunners boss. He has previously spoken of his desire to return to management but has now confirmed the fact he has had the option to return to the Premier League.

Arsene Wenger Has Turned Down PL Offers

Too Linked With Arsenal

Over the years, the boss has made some big claims. He has claimed that he could have signed Cristiano Ronaldo and turned down the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Now, Arsene Wenger has revealed that he has turned down the option to manage in the Premier League again.

“I’m an Arsenal man and after that I’m a professional. I can’t stop working. I’ve decided to move out of the Premier League because I am too linked with Arsenal. I had opportunities to work in England but I turned them down.

“I don’t want to tell you [which clubs] because there are people in charge and it would be unfair to them.”

Defending his Arsenal Record

Arsene Wenger did some wonderful things in English football. Three Premier Leagues, seven FA Cups and, of course, one invincible season.

However, his tenure ended in somewhat ignominious fashion by missing out on the Champions League for the second year running. He took the time to defend his time at the club,

“It is difficult to explain the today the circumstances in which we built the stadium because the turnovers today are multiplied by five.

“When we decided to build the stadium, we had a turnover of £90 million and the stadium was £430 million. Then the pressure is really there and I think to come out of that period in a very healthy situation was a little bit of a miracle.”

Future at FIFA?

Despite previous claims that he would want to return to management, Arsene Wenger is now heavily linked with a job at FIFA. He says will make a decision soon.

“It’s chief of football development in the world and that decision will be made very soon. They look for people who have big experience and knowledge of the game who have learned a lot.”
