Best Fantasy Premier League Captain for Gameweek 4

Picking the right Fantasy Premier League Captain can often make or break an FPL manager’s week. In fact, it could be the catalyst for a great week. So, let’s try to find out who could be the best captain this week.

Finding the Best Fantasy Premier League Captain for Gameweek 4

The Candidates

Harry Kane was supposed to be the standout captain last week. So many FPL managers gave him the armband only to see him return just two points. Last season, there was a similar game last season against Cardiff where Kane not only blanked, he also got booked, returning only one point. Many FPL managers even triple captained him that week. So, these things can happen. However, one cannot get discouraged from these things.

Manchester City Players

Manchester City play Brighton & Hove Albion at home this week. Hence, their players are expected to do well. City have an excellent record against the Seagulls, scoring 11 goals in the last four encounters, winning each time. Raheem Sterling (£12.2) is definitely the most sensible choice from the Cityzens. He has looked really threatening so far this season. More importantly, he seems to be a regular starter for Pep Guardiola.

The injury to Gabriel Jesus has made Sergio Agüero(£12.0) safe to start. The Argentine is deadly in these types of matches. He has scored four goals or more on three occasions in the Premier League, more than any other player. Agüero also has 11 Premier League hattricks to his name, a joint-record. One has to consider him for the armband very strongly. However, it might be difficult to fit him into your side.

Kevin De Bruyne (£9.7) is an interesting option as well. He has racked up four assists already this season. Maybe this is the week he will get a goal.

What About Salah?

Mohamed Salah (£12.5) reminded everyone of his quality last week with a 15-pt performance against Arsenal. How can one ignore him? However, he is more prolific at Anfield than he is away. Liverpool also have a tough away fixture at Burnley this week. Hence, on paper, he may not be the best candidate. Sadio Mané (£11.5) has a better away record but once again the fixture is not that easy.

Other Options

An intriguing option for the armband could be West Ham United‘s new signing Sébastien Haller (£7.4). Norwich City have conceded eight goals already in three matches this season. The Hammers also have a shaky looking defence so this match could see some goals. Similarly, one could make a case for the in-form Teemu Pukki (£7.0).

Harry Kane (£11.1) loves the North London Derby. In fact, he has scored nine goals against the Gunners in nine matches in the Premier League. He should be considered as well.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£11.0) scored a brace in this fixture last season. He also missed a crucial penalty at Wembley. This match could be full of goals so the Gabonese striker could be a great option. He has been overlooked by many this season so could be brilliant for those taking a punt on him.
