Latest Transfer Rumours
United Agree Swap ‘Deal in Principle’
According to Sky Sports (via Sky in Italy), Manchester United and Juventus have agreed a swap deal in principle, involving Romelu Lukaku and Paulo Dybala. Reports have linked Lukaku with an exit from Old Trafford all summer, with Inter Milan and Juventus interested. The deal, though, will hinge on Dybala agreeing terms with Manchester United. Should this deal fail, United will turn their attentions to Lyon striker Moussa Dembélé.
Juventus look to have beaten off competition from Inter Milan for Lukaku’s signature. Inter saw a £54 million bid rejected for the Belgian striker, whom United value at £79 million. Dybala has not enjoyed his football since last summer, playing under the shadow of Cristiano Ronaldo. He scored only five goals in Serie A last season. Whether or not he sees his future away from Turin, is as yet unclear.
Umtiti Interesting Red Devils
According to reports from Le10Sport in France, Manchester United are also eyeing a move for Samuel Umtiti of Barcelona. Rivals Manchester City held interest in the French centre-back, but United are reportedly the front-runners. United are willing to offer €50 million for the defender, but Barcelona wanted €60 million earlier this summer.
The World-Cup winner has fallen down the pecking order in Catalonia this year after the performances of Clément Llenglet and Gerard Piqué. He is reportedly one of the players Barcelona are willing to sell to fund a return for Neymar. United could need a new centre-back, after Eric Bailly suffered an injury, ruling him out for five months.
Onyekuru Could Be On Way Out of Goodison
Phil Kirkbridge of The Liverpool Echo reports that Henry Onyekuru could leave Everton this summer. The Nigerian attacker has spent the last two years on loan at Anderlecht and Galatasaray, waiting for an English work permit. However, he is still unable to obtain one, and could now be on the move.
The Toffees are now in talks with Monaco over his sale. They paid £7 million for him two years ago, signing him from Genk. He scored 14 goals on loan in Turkey last season.
Icardi to Naples?
Reports from Corriere dello Sport suggest that Napoli are ready to move for Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi. Now that Napoli have missed out on Nicolas Pepe to Arsenal and James Rodriguez looks set to stay at Real Madrid, the Italian side are turning their attentions elsewhere.
Owner Aurelio de Laurentiis has met officials from Inter to discuss a move for the Argentinian striker, with an £80 million move being mooted. Icardi has endured a controversial time in Milan after comments from his wife Wanda Nero led his captaincy being stripped away.
