Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has declared that nothing has changed regarding Harry Maguire‘s future with the foxes.

We Don’t Want To Sell Harry Maguire, Says Foxes Boss

Leicester Defender Remains Committed To Foxes

The future of Harry Maguire has not changed despite increased transfer rumours, according to Brendan Rodgers.

Leicester have remained clear in their stance of not wanting to sell Maguire.

The Foxes reportedly rejected two bids from Manchester United after the Red Devils failed to meet their valuation of the 26-year-old defender.

Rodgers’ side are not interested in selling Maguire for around £70 million. If Maguire was to leave the King Power Stadium, the Foxes would demand a world-record fee in excess of the £75 million Liverpool paid for Virgil van Dijk.

However, speaking after a friendly win at Cambridge United, Rodgers said he is relaxed about the speculation and that the Foxes neither want nor need to sell Maguire.

“We’re very relaxed,” Rodgers said. “The clubs that have spoken to Leicester have not met any valuation that the club has put on him, so at this moment in time he’s very much a Leicester player, and you can see where his concentration is, and it’s very much here.”

‘The Club Don’t Need To Sell’

When questioned about whether Maguire shares the same commitment to Leicester, Rodgers said: “That’s not really for me to say.”

He added: “I’m quite relaxed. It’s all ‘what if?’ At this moment in time there’s nothing there that is going to tempt the club at all. The club don’t need to sell, the club don’t want to sell.”

Rodgers was full of praise for Maguire’s professionalism not only in the pre-season matches but in training too.

The defender captained Leicester in the win and opened the scoring with a fine header from close range.

“He’s been absolutely great,” Rodgers added. “There’s obviously been a lot of speculation, if you pick up the media there’s a different story about Harry every day, but thankfully he’s very focused on his work.

“You can see he is working on his fitness as well as his game. It was a great header from Harry, a good 60 minutes from him, so he’s working very well.
