England Defender Kieran Trippier Signs For Atletico Madrid From Tottenham Spurs
Trippier, who has 16 caps for his country, leaves Spurs after four years. The 28-year-old who starred for England at the World Cup in Russia joined Spurs from Burnley in 2015. He would go onto play 114 games scoring two goals.
A New Start
Trippier had a difficult season, losing his place in the England squad as a result. He still played 27 Premier League games and 8 Champions League matches. However, his form after an excellent World Cup wasn’t what was expected. A fresh start could be what the full-back needs to regain his best form and win back his international place.
Kieran Trippier’s move from Tottenham to Atletico Madrid is a done deal – England right-back has passed his medical and signed a four-year contract in a deal worth ~£20m plus add-ons, ending his four-year spell at Spurs. Transfer to be announced this evening #THFC #AtleticoMadrid

Madrid Beat Others For Signature

What Now for Spurs?
Whether Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino decides to replace Trippier remains to be seen. He already has Serge Aurier and Kyle Walker-Peters at his disposal at right-back. He is also confident central defender Juan Foyth can fill in if required.
Pochettino is still looking to strengthen have already signed midfielder Tanguy Ndombele and Jack Clarke. William Saliba of Saint-Étienne, Real Madrid’s Dani Ceballos and Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon are reported targets.
