Latest European Transfer Rumours
Neymar Update
According to Sky Sports, Neymar has formally requested a transfer from Paris Saint-Germain. While the club have attempted to convince the Brazilian to stay, he has made up his mind to leave the Parc des Princes.
However, Neymar reportedly did not tell PSG where he wants to move. It is well known that Barcelona would welcome their former player back. The Catalans have yet to make a formal bid.
Speculation persists that Barcelona would have to include at least one player as a makeweight in the deal. Both Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele have failed to impress at the Camp Nou and could be used to complete a deal for Neymar.
Roma Consider Alderweireld Bid
Gianluca Petrachi, Roma director, recently spoke to the media in a press conference, answering transfer questions in the process. Specifically, he was asked about the futures of Nicolò Zaniolo and Alessandro Florenzi, as well as any potential interest in Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld.
While Petrachi was adamant that neither Zaniolo or Florenzi are on the market, he was coy over the Spurs man.
“I realise there is a release clause for Alderweireld, but [our club consultant] Baldini has a strong rapport with Spurs directors, he worked there for many years and can support Roma in signing Alderweireld.
The Belgian centre-back has a release clause of just £25 million and just one year left on his contract.
Inter Doubtful Over Lukaku
Inter Milan may be set to lose out on Romelu Lukaku. The Serie A side had been in talks over a loan-to-buy deal for the former Everton man, but cannot agree with Manchester United over the fee.
While Inter were willing to pay the £75 million asking price, they wanted to pay in instalments. However, according to the Daily Star, the Red Devils insist that they are paid all at once. While any fee for Mauro Icardi would make such a deal possible, there is nothing to say that the Argentine will leave the San Siro this summer.
Lukaku, meanwhile, wants a move away from Old Trafford as he has slipped down the pecking order under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. He is also a known admirer of the Italian game.
Seri Transfer Rumours
Just one year on from his transfer to Fulham and Jean Michael Seri may be on the move again. Following the Cottagers’ relegation, the 27-year-old was expected to seek pastures new this summer.
He may have his pick of clubs; Sport Witness report that both AC Milan and Galatasaray wish to sign the midfielder. There are no known bids on the table for the player and Fulham are thought to want to recoup most if not all of the £30 million fee paid to sign the player.
Seri is under contract at Craven Cottage until 2022.
