EFL Transfer Rumours: Stoke City, Leyton Orient, Bolton Wanderers and Barnsley
Stoke Transfer Rumours: Starlet Wanted
Stoke City hot prospect Nathan Collins is reportedly wanted by Manchester United and Werder Bremen. Alex Milne of the Mirror reports that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to bring young talent to Old Trafford. However, Bremen have already made an enquiry to take the 18-year-old on loan.
Collins, even though he has made just three senior appearances, is seen as one of the most promising youngsters in the Championship. Stoke are keen to keep Collins; however, with big clubs taking an interest, they may be powerless.
Palace Interested in Bolton Keeper
Mark Iles of the Bolton News has reported that Crystal Palace are interested in goalkeeper Remi Matthews. The Eagles want extra competition for their current keepers. A fee has not been offered; however, Wanderers would profit from future appearances and transfers.
Due to Bolton’s off-field difficulties, Matthews has not been paid since March. The 25-year-old signed last summer from Norwich City and made 19 league and cup appearances. Whether Bolton accept Palace’s offer could depend on their ongoing takeover negotiations.
Barnsley Chase Coventry Striker
New promoted Barnsley are chasing Coventry striker Conor Chaplin. According to Andy Turner of Coventry Live, Championship side Barnsley have offered £700,000 for the 22-year-old. The Tykes lost out to Coventry last summer for Chaplin’s signature. The Sky Blues paid £500,000 to Portsmouth.
Chaplin made 33 appearances last season, scoring seven goals. Although the jury is still out on the forward, many believe he has what it takes to have a better second season. A quick profit could be enough to tempt Coventry and the player could find a move to a higher division hard to resist.
Orient Reject Tottenham Bid for Happe
Leyton Orient have rejected a £300,000 offer from Tottenham Hotspur for Dan Happe. Tom Roddy of the Sun claims that Spurs have made the first move for the sought-after defender. Leicester City, Leeds United and Norwich City are also interested in the 20-year-old.
Happe broke into the Orient team last season. He played a big part in the club returning to the Football League. It is understood that Tottenham also offered add-ons plus the transfer fee. Orient are wanting a higher fee before letting the player leave. With several clubs interested, the fee they want could come soon.
